Cheap Canadian source for Amplifone tubes

Hello folks,

I've been keeping a secret from y'all (that's texan for you all).. :-)
About 6 months ago I spoke to someone at Cathray Electronics in Toronto,
Canada. He said that he had M48AAW00X tubes for only $79.95 Canadian
(about $55 US!!!!) Unfortunately I couldn't talk him into shipping to
the states, but he would ship within Canada. I planed to have a friend
in Canada order a couple and then ship them to me. Even with double
shipping, it still would have been a hell of a deal. I planed to post
this info to the list once I had grabbed a couple, but I never got
around to ordering any. Since my need isn't all that great, I've
decided to pass on the info. Perhaps there is a Canadian vectorlister
(John Robertson?) that would be willing to order several of these and
pass them on at a reasonable markup? Or maybe Cathray would now be
willing to ship to the states (especially if we could put together a
bulk purchase). Who knows, we might even get a cheaper price if we
purchased in quantity. In any event, here is the info on Cathray (no
website), if anyone wants to give them a call. :-) I could still use
maybe one tube if someone can work out a deal.

Oh, and BTW, I asked about the 19VLUP22 tubes for the WG6100 and they
said they do not stock those.. :-(
