Every edge connector I put together is crimped. As far as I know, it is perfectly fine to crimp (in fact Bob Roberts swears by them).

The ones I use (also happens to be the ones Bob sells) are split pins (2 contacts).
So.. Is there any *real* reason to waste all that time soldering/heat shrinking to solder tail edge connectors? Heaven forbid you break a pin and have to start over.. At least with the crimp style, you can replace a single bad pin if need be.
