I did go to Gregg's FAQ first and check those things
(though I now realize I only checked the spacer on Q900,
not the lead). I'll have to check that next time I'm in.
I did also do some qick in-circuit checks for shorts in
nearby components but I could have missed something.
I'll check these things again on Monday (working at home
today) and give an update. Thanks to Dave and Gregg for
the help.
