Another idea that has been suggested from time to time is to resolder the
header pins for the harness that connects the AVG and the CPU(?)
They are almost always cold
I got a few that were "close" but acting weird to work this way.
Try and use a solder station if you have one or possibly remove old solder
first with the $9.00 special from radio shack. (The best $10.00 anyone could
spend)
Just be careful when you power it up because the 5volt adjust on the ARII
could have been cranked up to compensate for built up resistance (bad solder
joints, dirty edge connectors) and you could put like 7 or 8 volts on the
5volt rails (ouch!)
I always hook up my meter to ground with a jumper and probe each test point
with one hand and flip on the power for a second with the other...
If any voltage is missing or high/low I can power down immediately before I
add more problems.
Also check for cold solder joints on the ARII board.
