This should be a simple question. I'm fixing a monitor out of a boxing
bugs which uses the WG 19K6100 series monitor. I got the deflection
board working, but the HV is dead. My suspicion is that the BU409
transistor blew (as did some other components). Right now the
collector, base and emitter is reading 24 volts. Normally, only the
collector should be getting that reading the others should be getting
about 5-8 volts right?
Anyway - the real question is, BU409 transistors are hard to come by and
expensive. $5 a piece from Bob Roberts. However mouser sells the BU407
transistors for super cheap and they've got plenty of them. I don't
have the specs, but I believe these are compatible - is that true?
Thanks!
Matt
