That's one thing to try. I wouldn't think the transistor would cause
vectors not to line up (but board adjustments would). And do any of
your lines have ripples or zigzags in them? Either of these could point
to either regular wirewound resistors being used instead of the
non-inductive wirewound resistors in the yoke feedbacks (yoke to ground)
OR a bad filter capacitor allowing high-voltage power supply noise to
get back into the deflection circuits.
