new power transistors vs. old

Hi all,

I picked up some 2n3792 power transistors off ebay a while ago for a good
price. They look unused but their date stamp is 1980. Does anyone think
these would be less reliable than one manufactured recently? If so, I'd
rather just spend the extra $6 to have a more reliable vector monitor.
