I still had the brrrrrs even after I replaced the bushings on mine (I can't remember where I got them, but it might have been Arcadeshop renovations). Couple of drops of 3 in 1 oil did the trick, however, and the thing hasn't brrrrred in well over a year. I suppose maybe it was the combination of the new bushings and the oil, but I'm inclined to think not, as the brrring was just as bad until I lubed it up. Why not just try the oil first? Couldn't hurt...

Subject: Re: VECTOR: Tempest encoder bearings still available from Roy?
I need to rebuild my Tempest spinner also. Mine makes the "brrr" sound
too. I would appreciate knowing who has the appropriate parts
available.
Thanks.

Were the ones from Roy significantly different (better/worse) than the
$5 Tempest spinner rebuild kit that Philippe from Arcade Renovations
sold? I know that Anthony from Quarter Arcade bought them out, but I
don't see that part on their site. Perhaps someone could contact
Anthony to see if he could offer those again. I got one of them and it
works great in my Tempest.

I thought those were 1/4" nylon bushings originally. They are
readily available if so - at least I have a pile of them in a parts
box...

Hello, Roy Kaplan made some really great replacement bronze
bearings years ago. I wondered if anyone knew if they were still
available? Roy's old e-mail (chumblespuzz@home.com) seems to no
longer work. I'm trying to restore a Tempest for a friend that has a
serious "BRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......" Any help would be
appreciated, Thnaks, Michael Kelley
