Al,

I would start by reading the manual.

There's a very detailed description of how the HV unit is supposed to work
in there, including voltages and waveforms.

See how what's going on in your unit differs from what's supposed to be
happening.

You didn't mention if the fuse blew again after you replaced it, nor did you
mention any voltage readings, so it's hard to tell you more than, RT_M.

Is the power supply working?
Is it oscillating?
Is the hold-down keeping it from running?

Trouble-shoot it. Then if you get stuck, ask us.
