> - what should the resolution be set at for an amp setup? I have it at 320x240
Resolution is irrelevant... it's just for the VGA monitor and you can
disable that to get even better draw speeds if you don't need your
display mirrored.
> -In games with scores along the top, or words, like Zektor, the left side of each number/word extends up about a quarter inch in a single line.. just on the top row right below edge of monitor if something is up there in a game. For instance, in Zektor each of the zeros in the score along the top have the left edge of the zero extending about a quarter inch past the top of the zero.
Try messing with the convergence pots on the ZVG circuit itself with the
logo display up. Try to get the outer box lines to line up... You
should be able to reach a nice compromise.
> - certain games the vectors slightly corrupt fairly consistently.. for instance, in the Zektor attract, when the 'R' gets written a huge mass of vectors flicker towards the center of the screen. In Cosmic Chasm, half the red center of the base as you fly towards it is extended and flickering in lower center of screen.. some of the stars in tac/scan and star wars are stretched into horizontal lines and flicker.. By the name in the lower right of the intro screen to the VM menu there is a curvy line to the left of the name (I think its a name offhand..) I had some issues with linearity originally because the jumper pins were so bent but I got them straightened out and the jumpers functioning... but things like the R in zektor are consistent..and the tall numbers at the top of screen..
Man that's weird. I've run my ZVG with a WG and currently with a
Cinematronics monitor and I don't get ANY of that stuff...
Incidentally graphic glitches in Omega Race are in the game code and are
reproduced faithfully!
> - How does the command line in vm.bat work for the soundcard portion? Not sure how I am supposed to get that running.. I can only run games chosing the 'zero' choice (no sound) or else I will get a divide by zero error and crash before the game starts and kick to dos prompt. I have the 'setblaster' line in autoexec. In vm.bat there is a long string of numbers after the soundcard portion.. not sure what to do there.. when the sound does get running, can you make it default to that or do you always need to hit the choice key for the soundcard when you chose the game?
You should set up your Soundblaster in autoexec and config.sys. I
HIGHLY recommend using a SB4810, which has an onboard amp. You can just
jumper it to 'speaker level' and hook the outputs directly to the arcade
speaker without having to worry about an amplifier.
> - can someone email me their config.sys, autoexec.bat, and vm.bat files? livnfree_can@yahoo.com .. I know it won't be exactly the same for me but its been a while since I worked in dos and its slowly coming back to me and I would like some other examples to tweak mine.

You will need to fix the orientation and change the ZVG settings to
color, as this is the same image I am currently using with my Armor Attack.

> If anyone has a zvg or setup for sale I am thinking of making a vertical orientated one as well so drop me a line if you do.
You're gonna run into some trouble there... I had originally intended to
host mine in a Tempest cab and found that several games didn't rotate
correctly - or else they rotated upside down! (Sundance) In a
horizontal cab everything seems to work.
Cheers!
