Before you go to all the trouble of finding, erasing and programming a bunch
of 2716s, you may want to try doing the single-EPROM upgrade. It uses a
27256 or 27512 and some soldering of a few wires. That way you get to use
only one chip and don't have to replace a bunch of sockets, either. I've
done this upgrade and it works.
