Hi all,
I had a response from Dave @ RAM Controls to the post below. I'm sure he
won't mind me sharing this information but the tubes are reproduction as
expected; finding a NOS lot in a warehouse would be nice but very annoying
for the people who missed out on the few found. The production run has been
signed off based on the samples and I understand full production is
either under way or imminent.
I think I'm going to take the leap and buy one with yoke assuming shipping
to the UK can be arranged. As for the XY yoke questions Col, I'd suggest
using the contact address on the RAM website or hoping that Dave responds to
your post on-list.
cheers
tim
ps A point I missed in my earlier response. Whilst it did take a long time
for the (premium) flight yoke rebuild kit to turn up, it's awesome quality -
the site says that the parts are fabbed above Atari spec, and having looked
at the two side by side I'd have to agree. I'm shortly going to be
installing it and will be providing pictures and a commentary. The SWC
T-molding was also of comparable quality. If the shipping issues can be
fixed leading to a restoration in confidence, there is a whole new lease of
life on offer to some amazing games :)
