Is it documented how IC900 works? Is it something that could be replicated
with a daughter card and some circuitry?
Looking at the G08 FAQ, it seems to me that it's an oscillator, a 10.3KV sensor
and a spot killer if no deflection dies. I would think this could be replicated
with a few chips and a daughter card, assuming enough details of IC900 are
known.
I don't have any Sega games, so I'm not the person for the job, but I hear
Clay does this kind of thing, and he does it well. :-)
