I fixed a Galaga cab (MDF like substance) that had water damage all
around the bottom, and the stuff swells and falls apart when it gets wet.
I simply threw the cab up on a bench and chopped the bottom 3" of it
off, all the way around, with a circular saw. Then I installed 1"x1"
strips
on the inside, 3/4" up from the new bottom edge, glued and screwed.
Then popped in a new 3/4" plywood floor, screwing up into the cleats.
Built a new isolation/filter/fuseblock/switcher assembly into the bottom
as well. Connected it all to the existing wiring harness. Quite a pretty
sight.
Installed the leveller feet again and all is well. Sure, it's 3 inches
shorter
now, but it looks good and plays like a champ.
