Re: Question about 25" picture tube

The Amplifone manual has good step by step instructions on doing the
convergence. The hardest part is getting the purity right and getting all the
colors aligned on the edges. Star Wars has grid patterns you can use to do the
alignment, but utlimately I use the actual game to do the fine tuning with
because that's what your going to be looking at all the time. I haven't
actually put the shunts in yet, but they usually make only a small difference so
I don't think there's any real trick to putting them in. I'll do that this
week.

I should also mention that the Amplifone manual says that the tube is a 90
degree tube. I believe the A63AAX00X is a 100 degree tube. So, both my
original and the replacement have a tiny bit of keystoning. I'll probably give
Clay's display corrector a try even though it's an amplifone. I still recommend
spending the $154 if you have a tube that is old and has burn in. Somehow the
colors on my new tube look so much more.... colorful. :)

Does anyone else have a 25" tube? I'd like to find out if the tubes were all 90
degree or if some of them were also 100 degree.
