Well, I think they are just as sensitive to convergence (the technology is the same). It could be that the wedges are in a good spot. That is what they are there for, after all - to keep the yoke in place.
Setting convergence is not difficult. There is a sweet spot where the lines all match up. You still need to have a mirror or something in front of you. Kind of a pain considering that you could simply swap the wires on the yoke plug. Even rotating the yoke requires some playing with it to make sure the lines are straight.
