I'm afraid to bring this up because I've been so busy, but I still plan to
do this project.
Here is some of the thinking on the New Vector monitor project.
Generating high voltage will pose no major technical challenge as it is
essentially similar to non-vector systems but needs it's own oscillator and
drive.
The Z (R G & B) inputs require simple signal conditioning with spot killer
and overdrive protection.
The linear Yoke drive will fabricated from scratch, but using LM3886 modules
for drive!(much protection and reliability)
Now what you've been waiting for: The Yoke!
Probably going to get that wound custom.= a little costly like $50US
Complete Raster chassis new for a little over $200, My main concern was that
whatever chassis I pick I can get many of in case everyone wants to buy a
kit.
Probably 19", but 25" could use the same hardware.
This system would be a retro upgrade kit.

Subject: VECTOR: REVENGE
It has come to my notice that 'some people' are taking serious liberty's
withe the public with regard to the price of videogames.
in perticular, vector games and there parts.
I see no reason why we cant reproduce replacement monitor pcb's.
they contain no custom parts, we have the schematics and i doubt people
would take any legal action over copywrite.
I could easily reproduce a vector-monitor pcb with modern 'upgrades' to
increase reliability, and flood the market, thereby helping ALL vector-game
owners and at the same time screwing all those greedy bastards who post on
E-Bay.
at the moment i am only posting my thoughts on this subject, but if it gets
any worse i WILL reproduce H/V boxes using cheap off-the-shelf line-output
transformers from domestic tv-sets (probably phillips for cost reasons).
phillips compatible transformers cost about Ј10 in u.k. (16us$), an entire
H/V box could be made (excluding metal-box) for about $30 (48$) that would
be cheap and easy to fix and be very reliable.
the only part i dont think could be second-sourced is the CRT.
(Monitors in public areas have special-thick glass on the front - domestic
tv tubes would not be legal in all countrys.)
I would apreciate any feedback on this subject as it seems with people like
Clay-Cowgill making replacements for custom I.C.s this may be the next
logical step!
