RE: Vector resolution

The asteroids deluxe manual says it's monitor has a resolution of 1024x768.

When I was writing code for space duel hardware, I was getting that
resolution with the digital scaler set to 1/2, I don't remember what I had
the analog scaler at, I think it was 1.
Not taking the scalers into account, the steps would be limited to the size
of the DACs.
I think they are 10 bits which would be 1024 steps. If they are 12 bits and
all lines are hooked up, there would be 4096 steps. (I don't have my
schematics in front of me)

Just curious about the 'resolution' of a std vector game like Asteroids (BW)
or Tempest (color).

I'm presuming that ultimately the XY display is analog in nature, but how
about the vector generation -- there has to be some discrete steps/positions
used for the drawing. Anyone know those numbers?

Thanks
