did some testing and further visual inspection
of the board last night and here is what i came
up with. I dont know why i didnt see this damage
before.
R718 Burnt Bad, Reading out of Range
R714 Burnt Bad, OPEN Reading
R705 Burnt, Tested OK
R710 Burnt, Tested OK
R720 OPEN
All legs were lifted and tested to come
up with the above.
Took some readings on the transisors
mounted on the heat sinks and compared
them to the working "Y" deflection side,
tested in place, did not remove... will
do so to confirm my finding that Q706
may be bad.
Also did the same with the rest of the
resistors in place between the y and x
sides... did not find any other problem
childs.
does any one have any speculation as to
what change of events took place to cause
the excess heat and failure of the above
components......?? where is a good place
to pick up alot of these components, does
BOB ROBERTS, carry all of these items?
