Battlezone sound

Ok, I now have a working BZ caberet (see message thread from earlier this week). However, the sound amplifier is not working properly now. I can hear the game sounds from the speaker very faintly and there is a lot of static. The volume control only slightly increases the game sounds, from nothing to barely audible.

I'm assuming there is something wrong with my amplifier PCB, how does one go about troubleshooting these?
