Hello All !
My TAC-SCAN has been doing this for a couple years now. Now that the
colder months are here it is again getting to the point where it bugs me -
enough to send the pictures and ask for any advice.
The game lives in the garage :( and on first power up the graphics are
quite scrambled but the game is functioning normally. After a few minutes
(3-5 minutes of warm-up) the graphics slowly return to normal. Eventually
the game looks normal and plays perfectly.
Here's my questions:
1. Do you think this problem is on the XY TIMING board in the card cage or
any other board in the cage ? Any ideas where I can get my hands on Sega's
Card Extensions so I could run the board outside of the cage and get out
the Freeze spray to try to locate the bad part.
2. Do you think this problem is on the monitor itself (G08) ? Should I try
spraying the deflection transistors first ? Is there any other component
on the chassis board that commonly creates this symptom when they begin to
fail?
Thanks for any advice ....
Regards,
Steven Winslow
