You can also use your HV probe to discharge the HV safely. If you don't
have one, you can find them for $20 on ebay.

Just a thought.. Ever since I picked one up, it is a great piece of
equipment for you to have. If you're working on a lot of arcades, this
is WELL worth the money. A few dollars can save hours of frustration.
