star wars problems

Hi all,
      I have a couple of problems with my starwars board - seem kinda
hard to diagnose, so if anyone can shed any light...
 
Problem 1. bottom of the screen things don't disappear when they scroll
off, they squash into a line until the whole object is gone - looks very
weird with text scrolling on, and the x-wing looks kinda freaky as it
moves up and down on the screen
 
Problem 2. tower stage - starts off fine, but later in the stage the
whole playfield is tilted down to the left - looks as if you are turning
all the time makes it impossible to play as the towers don't seem to be
where the look like they are - towers try to point straight up still.
 
I haven't got a digi camera to get photos but if anyone thinks they
would help I can try and borrow one from work.
